I have just fished my iPod from the mug of distilled water wherein it has lain soaking for the last quarter of an hour. This was occasioned by an unscheduled encounter with an uncontrolled tub of honeyed yogurt, in the depths of my handbag.

Now to allow it to dry out. Very, very slowly.

Just cos it has 'pod' in its name, doesn't mean that you can grow it!

I fear that applying heat might damage something. More damage than has been done already, that is!

When I dropped my phone in the sink, a friend suggested packing it in a bag with some silica gel packs as they'll absorb the moisture. Camera shops often have them if you don't have some to hand.

Won't know for a few days. It still has a misted up screen. Although I've found some silica gel, as suggested by [livejournal.com profile] jfs.

Rice is the other suggestion. It's what everyone suggests when people drop their mobile phones down the loo etc

I've given inadvertant baths to a few electronic devices and they've always been fine when dried out (and I didn't do anything special)

Had to give it a bath - it was gummed up with the honey.
