Brunnhilde and Black Canary

[livejournal.com profile] forbinproject has been thoroughly converted to Wagner. We went to the Met live HD performance of Das Rheingold at the BFI on Saturday and he frothed enthusiastically all the way home. This on top of Janacek's Makropoulos Case at ENO a couple of weeks ago, qualifies him for his certificate in Advanced Opera.

I might add that this hasn't been a one-way street. I now have opinions on various comics writers.

"Opinions" doesn't sound quite as enthusiastic as "frothed enthusiastically" - or am I reading too much into this? ;-)

</serious>Give the lady a chance.
Comics are a complex and involved artform which speaks to the deeper emotions and can, in those with the right sensetivities, trigger profound and heightened emotional states. It takes time to fully understand the deeper mysteries.

Opera, well, singing about killing dragons and stealing enchanted gold is obviously awesome. That shit's easy.
