Newly cushioned posterior?

Am sitting in the back of the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, listening to the clarinet concerto, prior to our Beethoven Ninth rehearsal for tonight's concert.
Had forgotten quite how narrow these bench seats are, but they now seem to be upholstered. I'm sure they weren't last time (Verdi Requiem two or three years ago).
These things matter when you're waiting 50 mins for your entry...

Wish I was singing Carmina... this orchestra isn't, um, up to standards... What time you getting to Oxford and where's your gig?

Ahh, sadly I left for Oxford before I got this. We wus at the Town Hall, but it was family doo anyway so I wouldn't have been able to escape for gossips.

It was very good. Sorry to hear your orchestra wasn't. :(
