The Ninth at the first night of the Proms. The other chorus is the BBC Symphony Chorus, and it's the first time they've done it without scores. A bit of nervousness there, and wondering what to do with their hands, and worrying about forgetting the words just when the camera is pointing our way. I'm bang in the middle of the front row, probably due to knowing it really well by now! (No fear here.) Right behind the naughty horn players.

Although I have to say, that at the orchestral rehearsal, the BBSO conducted by Jiří Bělohlávek weren't nearly as tight as the Philharmonia under Dohnanyi, at the RFO opening concert.

On BBC2 tonight at 8pm. Elgar's Cello Concerto is also on the programme.

One of these days I WILL attend a performance where you're singing The Ninth. (It's not like there aren't plenty of opportunities!) ;o)

Actually, scrap the previous comment. I'm an Eeeejit - of course I've seen you sing The Ninth. In Brum. This year.

D'Oh.

Also saw you on telly tonight too, although sadly before the singing happened!
