There's loads going on. Including, on Sunday 10th, a choir of 1,300 to sing Beethoven's Ninth, in a new English translation by Billy Bragg. We've just been sent the performance notes from the conductor - and the dress code. Black skirts/trews, with block coloured tops: Sopranos orange, altos green, tenors pink, basses brown. Apparently something to do with a flower design that's the symbol for the series of events. Am amused - some of the more floridly complexioned tenors are going to look terrible in pink.
Also doing a B9 at the 'official' opening concert the following evening. £500 and £100 a ticket!?!? Don't think
forbinproject is likely to come to this one!
