Evil Property Developer's latest 3-bed application: turned down flat by Redbridge Council. He didn't even get over the first hurdle. This is so good. It means we're not subject to the whim of the now-bored councillors, and means I don't have to run a planning committee campaign over Christmas.

The wording used in Redbridge's refusal is identical to that used by the Planning Inspectorate in their rejection of the 4-bed appeal over the summer, so it looks like the Planning Inspectorate's exasperation has put backbone into the Redbridge planners. The terms of the planning inspectorate's rejection were that pretty much any development will cause unacceptable traffic noise and loss of privacy to the houses on Green Lane, quite aside from the damage to the protected trees.

We haven't won - I don't think we'll ever win, as such, because EPD has an investment which he won't give up on. But he's going to have to have a substantial re-think.
